Many people decisions are made with good instincts, but without clear data, leaders can miss the real story behind turnover, engagement, performance, and hiring outcomes. This session teaches participants how to use simple HR analytics to make better, faster decisions about people and culture without complex software or a dedicated HR team. Participants will learn which metrics matter most, how to create a lightweight dashboard, and how to interpret trends to improve hiring, retention, performance, and workforce planning. The course includes practical examples and a one-page template for tracking core people metrics and turning insights into actions leaders can implement.

Objectives: Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:  

• Identify the most meaningful HR metrics for CPA firms and professional services teams, including hiring, retention, engagement, performance, and capacity indicators.
• Build a simple HR dashboard using readily available data sources such as HRIS or payroll reports, spreadsheets, surveys, and basic tracking tools.
• Interpret trends using leading and lagging indicators to diagnose root causes and prioritize actions.
• Use data to improve recruiting effectiveness, onboarding success, workload and burnout risk, and manager effectiveness.
• Communicate HR insights in a clear, decision-ready format that supports leadership accountability and strategic planning.
